Lake St Clair, Tasmania
Accessibility and inclusion
We want pumphouse point and lake st clair to be somewhere that everyone can enjoy, and for all of our guests to feel welcome, comfortable, and safe. Enjoy first class wilderness, free from physical, intellectual or discriminatory barriers.
Accessibility
Despite being contained within existing heritage buildings, all communal spaces around the property are wheelchair accessible, including the lounge, dining room and alfresco area. The reception cottage has an accessible toilet and ramp access. We have a number of golf buggies that transport guests and luggage around the property as required, including to and from The Pumphouse. All buildings can also be accessed directly by emergency vehicles if required.
The Pumphouse has an elevator that can access all three floors. Our two Pumphouse Top Floor Rooms with a bathtub were carefully designed with spacious and supportive bathrooms, roll-in showers, and moveable furniture to enable ease of access. These rooms can also be twin-share on request. Confined space around the sides of the beds make these rooms limited for full wheelchair users and are more suited for ambulant use; please call us to discuss your individual needs.
The ground level of the Shorehouse (where our dining room and lounges are) is accessible. The Shorehouse however does not have an elevator, and so all guest rooms in the Shorehouse require 3 or 4 flights of stairs to access.
If you have physical, hearing or visual impairments, we’d be happy to communicate with you over email or phone prior to your stay about how we can make your stay a seamless and enjoyable one.
Our team is educated on disability requirements and PEEP (personal emergency evacuation plans) and we are always eager to hear from you with any queries or suggestions you may have. We’re committed to continuously improving our accessibility features, as it’s important to us that Tasmania’s wilderness can be enjoyed by all.
DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
We whole-heartedly welcome all guests, regardless of their backgrounds, demographics, identities, orientations or religions (except those under 18 – sorry, kids!). This is part of our strong values-lead culture, and our cultural awareness and diversity training also applies within our workplace as well to ensure everyone here experiences Pumphouse Point free and safe from any discrimination.
If you have any religious requirements, such as needing a prayer space or have dietary requirements, please let us know and we’ll make arrangements for you.
